OUR STORY

Food prepared with love

I grew up in Bangkok in a family that ran a small car repair shop. Every evening, when the garage closed, my family would go out together to enjoy a meal. Some days it was simple street food, other days a local eatery, or sometimes a grand restaurant with tables full of dishes to share. Every meal was a moment of joy, filled with flavors, laughter, and friendship. Food became one of the warmest bonds and memories in my life, both with family and friends. For us, eating was never just about filling the stomach — it was about happiness, togetherness, and discovering new tastes side by side.

Life eventually carried me far from home, to Norway, where I first arrived as an au pair. Living alone in a foreign country was not always easy, and after more than sixteen years here, my longing for home and the familiar flavors of Thai food has only grown stronger. Whenever I return to Bangkok, I never miss visiting my favorite restaurants and ordering the dishes I love. Those familiar tastes comfort me and take me back to my childhood once again.

Another inspiration comes from history — in 1907, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) visited Europe and made a royal journey to North Cape, Norway. His travels became a symbol of bridging East and West, and it is this spirit that I wish to carry forward by blending Thai cuisine with the elegance of European vintage style.

My love for art and photography is also part of my identity. Inside TeeNee BANGKOK, the space is decorated with artworks I create, harmonized with a European vintage atmosphere, elegant tones of white and gold, and refined plating. In this way, I elevate the street food I love into a dining experience that is both authentic and sophisticated at the same time.

These experiences inspired the name of my company, SOFOOD SOFUN, meaning "So Many Foods, So Much Fun" — a true reflection of the food culture of my childhood, filled with both flavor and joy.

TeeNee BANGKOK is the very first restaurant I have created in Norway, to share these feelings with everyone. Our concept is simple:

"Taste of Bangkok, Touch of Home."

On our menu, you will find authentic Thai dishes, Japanese favorites, pizza, kebab, bubble tea, and our signature Thai iced tea.

For me, food has never been just something to eat. It is a way of sharing stories, celebrating life, and bringing the charm of Bangkok to your table.

TeeNee BANGKOK is not only a restaurant, but a home — a place that gathers memories, longing, and dreams, ready to be shared with everyone who walks through our doors.

Message from the CEO – Founder of Sofood SoFun AS

Dear guests,

For me, TeeNee BANGKOK is more than just a restaurant. It is a dream, memories, journey, cultural roots and a heartfelt connection between Thailand and Norway that I wish to share with you through every dish, crafted with care and dedication.

Why the opening has been delayed:

I have a deep passion for art and design, which is why I chose to do almost everything myself—from designing the restaurant sign, creating the logo, styling the interior décor, developing the menu, and even building the website. This was to ensure that every element reflects the true vision and character of TeeNee BANGKOK.

In addition, before this, I also worked 100% full-time while building the restaurant in parallel. That was a major reason why the process took longer than expected. Still, every delay has been filled with love and dedication, with the goal of creating a truly special dining experience.

We are fortunate to have supportive team members and friends who have stepped in at the right moments, helping us overcome challenges step by step. Very soon, we will be ready to welcome you with open hearts.

I believe that true greatness is not measured in words, but in experiences — and that is my promise to you in every meal we serve.

Warm regards,

       Jeab
